Thrifty Thursday

Free Listings for eBook Bargains & Freebies

On every Thursday at 5 a.m. Pacific time, Indies Unlimited presents a feature called “Thrifty Thursday.” It’s simple: authors can list their free or 99¢ e-books and readers can find a large selection of free and cheap reads in one convenient place. For those of you looking for Freebie Friday, it has now been incorporated into Thrifty Thursday. Click here for the most recent Thrifty Thursday. If you have a print book priced under $15, you can participate in Print Book Paradise (also known as Mr. Pish’s Print Book Party) the first Sunday of the month at 5 a.m. Pacific time.

THRIFTY THURSDAY IS A SELF-SERVICE FEATURE. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US WITH YOUR BOOK’S INFORMATION AND ASK US TO POST IT FOR YOU!!!

Here’s how it works:

AUTHORS

Provide the following information in the comments section of the post:
1. Book title
2. Author name
3. A one sentence blurb (140 characters OR LESS. Longer descriptions will be deleted in their entirety without notice.)
4. A link to download the book (to a secure retail site – Amazon, Smashwords, B&N, Kobo, Apple/iStore, & Sony)
5. The dates the book will be free or available for 99¢
(PLEASE do not post links to erotica, political, or religious titles. IU is a safe-for-work site. Books on those topics will be deleted without notice.)

Then scroll to the social media sharing buttons and tell your peeps about all the great books (including yours!) available on Thrifty Thursday. Don’t be a drive-by jerk. Spread the word.

READERS

Scroll through the comments section and click on the links for the books you think seem interesting – then download at will!

Thrifty Thursday FAQ

What happened to Freebie Friday? We may have mentioned this somewhere else *cough* top of the page *cough* but Freebie Friday has been assimilated into Thrifty Thursday. This article explains why.

How do I find the most recent thread where I can post my book? The best way to keep up with all the current articles is to subscribe to Indies Unlimited. That will send you a daily digest with all the articles. But, if you don’t want to do that (even after all we’ve done for you *sigh*), you can find Thrifty Thursday by clicking here. The article at the TOP of that page is the most recent. Check the date, then click on the title of that top post and it will take you where you need to go.

Can I email my book’s information to you and have you upload it to your site? No. Thrifty Thursday is a self-service post. Just mark your calendar and fill in the information as specified above.

Does my book have to be free or discounted on that day to qualify? No. Just make sure to include the dates of its freebieness or price reduction as specified above.

I’m offering a free sample of my book on my personal website. Can I post that? No. We only link to verified, secure retail sites as specified above. If you post a link to your personal site, we will delete it.

Can I… No. The instructions above cover it all.

I’m not sure I get it. If you have a question that isn’t answered by any of this information, please feel free to use our contact form. Our friendly customer service pit bulls will be right with you.
