Shawn Inmon Joins the Staff of Indies Unlimited

Author Shawn InmonWe are pleased to announce that Shawn Inmon has joined the staff of Indies Unlimited as a contributing author.

Shawn is the author of ten titles including Rock ‘n Roll Heaven, Feels Like the First Time, Lucky Man, and the Second Chance Series. His stories also appear in a number of anthologies. Two of his novels have been translated into Spanish and Italian.

In addition to writing, Shawn has experience in a number of different fields including real estate, radio broadcasting, hamburgers, and business consulting. This combination makes Shawn a perfect fit for Indies Unlimited, as we are always fighting over the music on the iPod, and how to say gruel in Spanish.

A true dynamo with over 600 reviews on his first novel which was published just over two years ago, we look forward to learning much from Shawn. Please welcome him to the IU family.

    1. Wonderful, and thank you. 🙂 I have lots of things I am looking forward to writing about.

  1. Mmmm. Hamburgers. With bacon, too?

I’m really looking forward to learning how not to wither away in obscurity. Glad to have you here, Shawn! 🙂

    1. Quick story. Being a burger flipper was my very first job, and an early lesson in human behavior. I applied for a job at a small place with the odd name of “The Mini Mall” in Seward, Alaska. (It was kind of mini, but not a mall in any way.) I was 14, but tall for my age. The man who interviewed me told me I had to be 16 to cook there and asked me how old I was. “16, sir,” I lied. He said, “I am going to make a call and verify that you really are 16. I’ll be back in ten minutes.” He left me to stew in the juices of my own dishonesty. Ten minutes later, as promised, he returned and said, “Okay, you check out. You can start tomorrow.” I learned two important lessons that day: How to cook a burger without drying it out, and that adults lied, just like kids. I still remember both of them. 🙂

    1. I feel so bad when I think of my first victims… err, customers. I wish I could track them down and give them a free copy of one of my books to make up for the damage I did to their taste buds.

    1. Thank you, Charles. I am not unlike Wimpy myself. I would gladly pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today. 🙂

    1. If that’s the case, then things are awesome! Does the new guy get a second helping of gruel with raisin sprinkles on his first day?

    1. I know. Why couldn’t I have had a background as a vegan chef? (Mainly because I grew up on a farm, I suppose.)

  2. Thank you, Patrick. I’m looking forward to thinking of some. Hoping inspiration will strike at any moment. 🙂

    1. Thank you. I promise to wait several weeks before I’ll even think of stepping out of line. 🙂

    1. It’s one of my favorite sites, as well, Linda. That’s why I am thrilled to be here. Thanks for the welcome!

  3. Welcome Shawn to one of my favorite websites! I have learned so much from this site and I’m sure you will have lots more information to share with all of us gym rats. I may not participate in the gruel but I do love a hamburger here and there. Looking forward to finding out how you achieved your successes.
