Google Plus Grow Your Circles Fest!

google+As Facebook fizzles into the sunset, more folks are turning to Google Plus. Our Jim Devitt wrote about Google Plus just last week. So how about we make some new friends on Google Plus?

This is how it works: If you are an author, publisher, publicist, literary agent, book reviewer, librarian (or especially a book-lover), etc., in the comments below, paste in the link for your Google Plus profile. Make sure you show some love to the links in the comments above yours (by adding them to your circles), and check back throughout the day to catch up.

If you’re not sure what link to post, just find your profile, then copy and paste the URL. It should look something like this: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115965541971717273872

This should be fun and should generate a lot of exposure for everyone who plays. Let’s get things moving!

PLEASE be sure to reciprocate by following those who follow you. This is give and take. If everyone plays by the golden rule, we all benefit.

  1. Okay, done up to here, will check back in a few hours, probably tomorrow since it’s 3 mins to midnight here!

    1. Got everyone I wasn’t already following. Except JM Williamson. That profile won’t load for me. Oh, and after going through the comments I now have my answer re: the names versus the numbers. Thanks for playing, y’all.

  2. Oh, rude words in seventeen different languages!!!
I can’t see how to start a circle.

I am confused by hundreds of things the bloody pages tell me to do but none of them involve starting a circle.

I hate computers! Why can’t they work the way I want them to.

    1. lol, I was there not so long ago. On everyone’s Google+ page, in the header at the top left.the “Add to circles” option will appear for each of the people above. Hover over it and a drop down menu of options lets you choose how you want to associate with that person. Choose one (I start with ‘acquaintances’).That puts you in a circle with that person.

Assuming that you have a Google+ account copy the url at the top of your own page that looks like the ones above and paste it here. That lets us do the same for you. Now we are in each other’s circles.

      Good luck.

      1. Yvonne, using that link seems to bring up the view-as-myself link, rather than the public one. But I’m probably confused about the whole thing, as usual…

  3. Thank you everyone. I am slowly getting to grips with the monster. I will keep trying but oh, I long for the days when I cut right winged goose feathers into quills and made ink from the nearest oak tree’s galls!
