Wattpad Follow Fest

Follow on WattpadThere’s been quite a bit of talk lately about Wattpad. Donna Huber mentioned it in her interview this past week, and the lovely Carol Wyer told us all about it in an introductory post.

This is how it works: If you are an author, publisher, publicist, literary agent, book reviewer, librarian (or especially a book-lover), etc., in the comments below, paste in the link for your Wattpad profile. Make sure you show some love to the profiles in the comments above yours, and check back throughout the day to catch up. To get your url, merely go to your profile and copy the link next to the BIG pink arrow at the top of the picture above (i.e. – http://www.wattpad.com/user/KSBrooks).

Click on the person’s link in the comments section below, and you will go to their profile. Then click Follow. (See photo above.)

This should be fun and should generate a lot of exposure for everyone who plays. Let’s get the party started!

April Facebook Fest!

facebook rainLet’s ring in April by showing some love to our Facebook pages!

This is how it works: If you are a person with a Facebook page you’re welcome to join in. This is not limited to being an author, publisher, publicist, literary agent, book reviewer, librarian, (but if you’re a book-lover – that’s awesome!), etc., in the comments below, paste in the link for your Facebook Page. Make sure you show some love to the links in the comments above yours, and check back throughout the day to catch up. (“Likes” from other PAGES do not count. Only “likes” from personal accounts register.)

[Don’t forget, if you right-click the links, you can choose to have them open in a separate tab so you don’t have to worry about navigating back and forth to pages.]

This should be fun and should generate a lot of likes, follows, etc. for everyone who plays. Let’s get the party started!

To those with concerns about the ethical implications of “liking” a book you have not read, we regard  likes as more analogous to a “high five” than a rating or review. We do not support the idea of rating or reviewing a book you have never read.

PLEASE be sure to reciprocate by liking those who like you. This is give and take. If everyone plays by the golden rule, we all benefit.

High Five – Book Review Blast!

thumbs up rudolphWell how cool is it to get an awesome review? Oh come on, be honest, you want to scream it from the rooftops. Well, here’s your chance to do just that – but please – use your inside voices! There’s no need to shout. Just post a link which goes directly to your favorite review in the comments below. Not all retail sites allow for that, so please limit links to those which do. Here’s an article that will explain how. Follow the instructions below, and you’ll be good to go!

Want to share that awesome review? Just place the following information in the comment section:

1. The name of your book;

2. Your favorite, SHORT one-line quote from the review along with a link that goes directly to the review from a magazine, review site, or retail site; and [If you go nuts, we will edit you. Don’t make us do that.]

3. ONE purchase link to the book. If you use an Amazon link, we can make it all pretty with a book cover for you. If you use a link to a site other than Amazon, sorry, the coding is just too difficult.

So let’s give it a try, shall we? Please make sure to follow the RULES above. Now, go ahead and tell the world about your awesome review. IU is a safe-for-work site. PLEASE do not post links to erotica, religious, or political titles.
