Kerry, how did you come up with the title for your book? Does it have any special meaning?
While in an interminable ‘call waiting’ queue one day, I scribbled random words on a piece of paper. The list included ‘Johnny’, ‘Transition’, and ‘Swift’ – including a few other choice words I can’t repeat here. The title was born. All I needed to add was the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?
My favourite is Pete Brazier, the lead character Frank’s adoptive father and best friend. We don’t see much of him, but he has to suffer when his son and daughter are injured in an accident. Pete has to decide where to switch off his daughter’s life support system. Heartbreaking.

Does your book have any underlying theme, message, or moral? 
Absolutely. This is the story of one man’s fight to save his sister and a natural family he doesn’t remember he had. Everyone around him thinks Frank is hallucinating, but he struggles through pain and doubt.

What would/could a reader or reviewer say about this book that shows they “get” you as an author?
I want the reader to think, “wow’, I didn’t expect that.” I want them to say, this guy writes so well, I was there in the book with the characters. In the end, I want the reader to be entertained. That’s enough for me.
