  1. Welcome. I’ve just recently been following your blog. I was also a technical writer. Now I’m trying my hand at Jewish vampires… It’s going slowly… I keep writing too much like a tech writer rather than fiction.

Welcome. This is one of the best blogs and I’m sure you will be a great addition.

    1. Thanks Tasha, for the welcome and for your comments on my blog. You always have something interesting or informative to say.

And boy do I know where you’re coming from re technical writing. It literally took me 10 years to retrain my brain /not/ to write ‘precise, authoritative’ prose. That’s not to say it will take you that long though! I’m a slow learner.

Jewish vampires? How does that work? I’m not Jewish but I know about the Sabbath so do your vampires stay home on Friday nights? Sorry to sound flippant. I’m actually intrigued by the concept. And thanks for the welcome. πŸ™‚

      1. Oh it might take me 10 years. LOL I’m going on 18 months late on 1st deadline.

        I’ve been enjoying your blog.

I’ve got a page on my blog about Jewish vampires so I’ll share one quote here and then link to my vamp page for those interested in learning more.

“Jewish vampires: Crosses & holy water won’t hurt me whatcha gonna try next?”

    1. lol – I’m definitely the new girl on the block, although ‘girl’ might be pushing the boundaries a bit. Crone perhaps?

  2. Welcome to the best writers community on the planet, Meeks. Great to have you aboard, nice to have some more support from down under and I look forward to your articles.

    1. Hi TD! Tassie is even further downunder than Melbourne but in the interests of solidarity I won’t say anything. πŸ˜‰ Isn’t it odd though that you were born in Scotland and I was born in Hungary yet we both ended up in Australia? Oy oy oy. πŸ™‚

    1. lmao – Yvonne! Ah you wicked woman, that gave me a good laugh. I promise to restrict TD’s meat pies if he misbehaves. πŸ˜€

  3. Welcome, Andrea! Make sure Dick washes the “new guy” suit before he hands it over to you. And don’t eat the “special crunchy” bits in the gruel, no matter what Kat says. πŸ˜›

    1. Thanks for the warning Lynne. On my way to the drycleaners right now. Do you think it would be safe to drink my gruel through a straw?

  4. Welcome, A.C. As TD McKinnon said, this is the greatest writers’ community on the planet.

    1. Thanks Helen. πŸ™‚ I’ve been a lurker for a while, and can hardly believe my luck that I’ve been invited in. πŸ™‚

  5. Oh Dear. Do they know what they’ve let themselves in for? You’ll have to put your ‘Be Nice’ suit on now Andrea and remove the Queen of Snark one.
I look forward to the first piece as I know how good a writer you are.

    1. Sssshh! I was going to ease them into gradually. Now they may make me eat the crunchy bits in the gruel! -hugs-

  6. Congrats, This sounds like a great group to be a part of, have fun. I know everything you’ll contribute will be excellente! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Penny. It’s lovely to see you here, and yes, they’re a great bunch. It’s not often you meet people who can make you laugh about adverbs and typos!

  7. AC, I’m SO happy you’re! We like snark, and if you want that gruel through a straw, we’ll run it through the blender first. Welcome aboard and I’m looking forward to your posts!

    1. I’m so relieved Laurie, about the snark that is. However I’ll just have the gruel straight thanks. So I can fish out the… crunchy bits. πŸ™‚ -hugs-

  8. All jokes aside, I’d like to thank you all for this fantastic welcome. And a special thank you to Meeka’s Mates for coming over and sharing in the fun. Goodnight all. πŸ™‚

  9. Welcome to the crew, AC, I’ve been following your own blog for a while and you deliver quality content… Well, mostly πŸ˜‰
