Feel Free to Misquote Me #2

Once again, I’ve taken some of the lesser-known quotes from some great authors and improved upon them by adding just a few extra words. Why? I’m bored—that’s why.

“Never assume, no matter how strong the temptation, that other people are low-life lying manipulators without a shred of human decency. Most are just plain idiots. The rest are assorted nutjobs.” Dinesh D’Souza

“Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives. You know what I mean by affection, right?” C. S. Lewis

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. So get some self-confidence, dumbass.” A. A. Milne

“To do exactly as your neighbors do is the only sensible rule. Unless your neighbors are total freaks or weirdoes or something.” Emily Post

“For changes to be of any true value, they’ve got to be lasting and consistent. Except for underwear. That should be changed daily. Perhaps more often in your case.” Tony Robbins

“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval. Of course, if that’s all the approval he ever gets or wants, then he’s probably just a jerk.” Mark Twain

“After people have repeated a phrase a great number of times, they begin to realize it has meaning and may even be true. Keep saying that to yourself.” H. G. Wells
